Dorothy has been in the real estate and mortgage industry since 1994. Dorothy was an active Realtor in the Birmingham area from 1994 to 1997. Since 1997, Dorothy has been originating residential mortgages in Alabama, Colorado and Flordia having closed over 3,000 loans. Dorothy previously owned her own mortgage brokerage company and received numerous awards. Dorothy was ranked in the top 40 of the largest women owned businesses in Birmingham in 2003 and 2004. Dorothy was named Affiliate of the Year by the Women's Council of Realtors in 2004. Also in 2004, Dorothy was listed in the Birmingham Business Journal's Fast Track 25. In 2005, Dorothy was named one of the top 10 Entrepreneurs of the Year by the Birmingham Business Journal. Dorothy was also nominated in 2005 and 2006 as Birmingham's Small Business Person of the Year. One of Dorothy's biggest awards was being named one of the top 200 Loan Originators in the Nation in 2002 by The Mortgage Originator Magazine. Dorothy has written numerous mortgage industry articles and brings her experience and knowledge to New South Federal.
Dorothy is an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, as her husband and all three children have attended and currently attend the University of Alabama.
